Once you’ve completed the basic training, you’ll have to pass a written and a practical exam delivered by our state licensing board.

The second level of will vary by each state. Usually, you’ll have to complete at least 30 to 350 hours of training. The last level, paramedic, will require your EMT training to include anatomy and physiology. It prepares you to take the NREMT exam in order to become a certified paramedic. This exam is also very extensive and challenging. Getting the proper EMT training is important as the pay scale for EMTs is very good, ranging from $15 to $35 an hour. This depends on your skill level, experience and geographic location.
